Being Mobile Project: Being Mobile (Disseminating Virtual Mobility for Students and Teachers)
Duration: 14 months (Nov. 2005 ? Dec. 2007) Coordinator: EuroPACE IVZW Partners: ICWE gmbh (DE), ATiT bvba (BE), TietgenSkolen (DK), SPACE network (BE) Summary: Being Mobile aims to raise awareness amongst representatives from all teaching and training sectors about how European Cooperation can be heightened through Virtual Mobility. Virtual Mobility of teachers and students enables them to benefit linguistically, culturally and educationally from the experience of other European countries and of their (academic) fields of study. Furthermore, virtual mobility enables European cooperation opportunities for those not able to benefit from the existing face-to-face programmes. BEING MOBILE will manage a targeted dissemination activity, in the form of a workshop, a conference and a publication. They will specifically promote the take-up of Virtual Mobility through making available the results of previous Socrates projects and similar initiatives in this field, fostering European cooperation in education and motivating others to follow their example. Project Results: (1) Real working virtual mobility actions within the real environment of mainstream education of the partners; (2) Concrete and validated procedures as well as recommendations at institutional, network (local as well as transnational and European level, published in a manual about a global framework for networked e-learning, as a further development of the existing Manual for a Collaborative European Virtual University (finished cEVU project); (3) Tools and techniques that support the virtual mobility actions, including training materials; (4) Effective dissemination to stimulate uptake of the outcomes inside and outside the (extended) partnership URL: http://www.being-mobile.net/ Supported by: EC - DG Education and Culture - Socrates ?
